Force India close to naming second driver

27 February 2013

Force India is close to naming its second driver for the 2013 campaign, with a team spokesperson explaining to GPUpdate.net that an announcement could be made on Wednesday or Thursday. Adrian Sutil, who drove for the outfit through various guises from 2007 to 2011, is believed to have secured the seat alongside Paul di Resta.

Sutil and Ferrari protege Jules Bianchi have long been in contention for the vacancy, which marks the final available cockpit on the 2013 grid. According to France's RMC Sport, Bianchi's manager, Nicolas Todt, has now spoken out to confirm that Sutil will be announced by Force India as the second full-time member of its driver line-up.

Sutil and Bianchi drove for the team during last week's test in Barcelona, with Force India eager to give both men 'an even playing field' if they were to be chosen.
