Räikkönen misses third day due to illness

2 March 2013

Kimi Räikkönen has pulled out of the penultimate pre-season test day at the Circuit de Catalunya with suspected food poisoning. The Finn was penned in for the final two days of running at the Barcelona venue, but has been advised to rest for 24 hours.

Having completed the opening two days of the test, Räikkönen's team-mate, Romain Grosjean, had travelled back home. However, the outfit has since recalled the Frenchman and he is expected to arrive at the circuit in time for the afternoon session.

Lotus reserve driver and reigning GP2 Champion Davide Valsecchi, who tested for the outfit in Abu Dhabi last November, will take to the wheel this morning. The team hopes that Räikkönen will have recovered sufficiently to complete the final day of testing.
