Nico Hülkenberg has revealed that he had laser eye surgery over the winter break, with the German now able to race without contact lenses. Although he suffered no on-track effects last season, he admits the operation will 'make things easier' in 2013.
"I had no problems with contact lenses, but it makes things easier," Hülkenberg, who joined Sauber from Force India at the end of 2012, told Swiss newspaper Blick.
Hülkenberg heads to the season-opening race in Melbourne having failed to finish at the venue from two attempts, retiring due to collision damage in 2010 and 2012.
