Force India duo yearning for podium result

15 March 2013

Force India drivers Paul di Resta and Adrian Sutil have set their sights on podium finishes in 2013, with the pair yet to stand on the rostrum. Although both men have been close on previous occasions, a fourth place result for Sutil at Monza in 2009 and the same for di Resta in Singapore last year, the top three has eluded them.

"It's not a secret that that would probably be the biggest target I've got this year, to get on the podium," said di Resta. "After that, we will set goals of what we think is realistic but I expect to be racing the likes of Sauber and Williams. The likes of Mercedes, who we were racing at the end of last year, they have moved up a step by the looks of it, but never say never."

Sutil, who returns to the sport after 12 months out, echoed di Resta's words and says although he has a certain amount of catching up to do, the team must aim high.

"There is still a lot I need to understand, especially in terms of the tyres, but we’re in a good place already," explained Sutil. "It’s difficult to set a goal for this weekend, but my target for the season is to improve on my 2011 performance and aim for some podiums. So we need to start the year well, aim high and take our chances."
