Warwick joins stewards panel for Sepang

19 March 2013

Derek Warwick has been named as the FIA driver representative steward for this weekend's Malaysian Grand Prix, having held the role on numerous occasions. Most recently, the ex-Formula 1 driver was a member of the panel in Abu Dhabi last year.

Warwick, whose F1 career began with Toleman in 1981 and concluded with Footwork in 1993, registered four podium results. All of his rostrum appearances came in 1984, when he scored two pairs of second and third place finishes for the Renault squad.

Since August 2011, the Englishman has been President of the British Racing Drivers Club (BRDC), a position he took over from Damon Hill, the 1996 World Champion.
