Fry to step down from Mercedes CEO role

22 March 2013

Nick Fry is to step down as the CEO of the Mercedes Formula 1 team in the coming weeks, with Toto Wolff due to increase his role at the Brackley-based outfit.

Soon after Wolff's arrival from Williams earlier this year, the nature of Fry's long-term position at the Silver Arrows was put in doubt. Following an internal review, it has been decided that the 56-year-old will step aside and take on a consultancy role.

Wolff is expected to work even closer with Team Principal Ross Brawn in his strengthened role, while also assuming most of Fry's current responsibilities.
