Lotus remains open to Kubica return
25 March 2013 – Lotus Team Principal Eric Boullier says he would consider re-signing Robert Kubica in the future, providing the Pole is physically prepared for a Formula 1 return.
The 28-year-old, who has been steadily recovering from a severe rally crash at the beginning of 2011, recently signed a deal with Citroën to contest the 2013 WRC2 season and is also entering selected European Rally Championship rounds.
When asked whether Kubica's increased motorsport activities could lead to a return with his team for the 2014 campaign, Boullier replied: "If Robert is completely ready for a return to Formula 1 then he will definitely be among the candidates."
Kubica made his European Rally Championship debut last weekend, competing in the Rally Canaries. Having dominated the opening day of the event by winning all eight stages, he crashed out of a comfortable lead the following afternoon.
