Alonso and Massa visit Ferrari factory
8 April 2013 – Ferrari drivers Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa spent a few days at the outfit's Maranello factory last week, holding discussions with engineers and completing laps in the simulator to prepare for this weekend's Chinese Grand Prix.
In addition to his racing duties, Alonso worked on fine tuning the new LaFerrari road car, before touring the factory's dedicated paint shop and main production lines.
"I am always happy to spend a few days in Maranello," said Alonso. "Apart from working on the car and being in close contact with the team, sometimes I’m able to see some of the production departments which are the heart of the company.
"This time I met up with people who are never in the limelight, but they have an incredible love for their work. It gives me even more motivation and makes me even prouder to be part of the Ferrari family."
After the opening two races of the season in Australia and Malaysia, Ferrari sits third in the Constructors' standings with a total of 40 points, while Massa and Alonso currently occupy fifth and sixth respectively in the Drivers' championship.
