I will end career at Ferrari, Alonso reiterates
10 April 2013 – Fernando Alonso has repeated that he will end his Formula 1 career at Ferrari, vowing never to leave the Italian marque for a rival outfit. The two-time World Champion, who joined the team ahead of the 2010 season, holds a contract until the end of 2016.
Having previously driven for Minardi, Renault and McLaren, the Spaniard explained in a Twitter Q&A on Ferrari's official website that 'there is nothing above' his current team.
"Yes, that’s what I’m going to do," said the 31-year-old, when asked if he intends to remain with Ferrari. "It’s the best team in the world, there’s nothing above Ferrari."
Of Alonso's three seasons at Ferrari to date, he has finished runner-up in the title race on two occasions. Last year, he missed out on the Drivers' crown by just three points.
