Gonzalez to stand in for Chilton in Spain
4 May 2013 – Marussia have confirmed that their reserve driver Rodolfo Gonzalez will take Max Chilton's place in FP1 for the forthcoming Spanish Grand Prix.
It will mark the second time this season that the Venezuelan has got behind the wheel of a Formula One car, with the 26 year-old having also taken part in the first practice session in Bahrain in place of Frenchman Jules Bianchi, ending up eight-tenths behind Chilton in the timesheets on that occasion. The Briton will return to the cockpit for FP2 alongside Bianchi.
Gonzalez last raced competitively for Caterham in GP2 during the 2012 season, finishing 22nd in the points standings.
