Di Resta buoyed by 'big result' in Spain
13 May 2013 – Force India driver Paul di Resta reckons there is more to come from his team after securing a third consecutive points finish at the Spanish Grand Prix, with the Scot expecting the upgrades introduced at Barcelona to yield more lap time in future races.
Having started last Sunday's race from tenth on the grid, di Resta progressed to seventh before the chequered flag and was close to overcoming pole-sitter Nico Rosberg, who suffered from severe tyre degradation as the afternoon progressed.
"We said before the race that seventh would be a good result and towards the end I was even fighting for sixth," explained di Resta. "So we can take a lot of positives from the weekend because this is a track that has traditionally not suited our car. It was a great effort by the team to get through to Q3 and come away with a seventh place.
"The result shows the consistency that we have had since the start of the year and that we can perform each weekend. There’s more to come too, because there is more we can do to optimise the car with the new parts, but this is definitely a big result for us."
Force India team-mate Adrian Sutil finished the Spanish Grand Prix back in 13th position, having been severely hindered by a delay during his opening pit-stop.
