Silverstone to sell tickets on the gate
25 June 2013 – Silverstone organisers have announced that fans will be able to purchase tickets for this weekend's British Grand Prix at the circuit's gates, with General Admission and a selection of Grandstand vantage points still on offer for all three days of the event.
As GPUpdate.net reported last week, sales have been down on the record figures achieved in recent years, but the circuit insists that it is still expecting to enjoy "one of its biggest" attendances, with the 'on the gate' initiative a late incentive for spectators.
"While we don’t expect to reach the record attendance levels of 2011 and 2012, we are anticipating another big crowd," said Silverstone Managing Director Richard Phillips. "Ticket sales were slower than usual during the initial sales period, but we have seen a significant upturn in interest and buying patterns since F1 returned to Europe.
"This, coupled with an improvement in the weather and a promising forecast, has prompted us to put measures in place to sell tickets to fans deciding to turn up on the day. This weekend’s attendance looks set to be one of our biggest in recent years."
On the day parking and Grandstand upgrades will also be available at the event.
