Minute of silence for Canadian GP marshal
28 June 2013 – A minute of silence was held at Silverstone on Friday evening in memory of marshal Mark Robinson, who lost his life after the conclusion of the Canadian Grand Prix.
Drivers, team bosses and circuit workers gathered underneath the circuit's podium to pay their respects to Robinson, who was crushed by the wheels of a recovery crane carrying Esteban Gutiérrez's Sauber back to the pit lane at the Montreal venue.
At Silverstone on Thursday, Gutiérrez paid tribute to the work carried out by marshals throughout the Formula 1 season, and sent his wishes to Robinson's family.
"I really give my biggest condolences to his family," he said. "It was not the best feeling to hear about it because it was someone working with all of us on an event."
