Force India accepts stewards' decision
29 June 2013 – Force India will not to appeal against the stewards' decision to exclude Paul di Resta from the results of British Grand Prix qualifying, having initially considered doing so.
At the end of the grid-deciding session, di Resta's car failed to reach the regulation weight by 0.5kg and, after fuel was drained, it dropped to 2kg below the limit.
The figure changed after a recalibration of the FIA's scales, but the car was still 1.5kg underweight, thus prompting the stewards to cancel di Resta's qualifying result.
Having assessed the available options, Force India ultimately chose to accept the penalty issued by the panel, which sees di Resta dropped to the back of the grid.
In the sister VJM06, Adrian Sutil now starts the 52-lap race from sixth position.
