Marussia confident Bianchi will race
5 July 2013 – Marussia is confident that Jules Bianchi will quickly recover from the stomach bug he picked up ahead of the opening day of practice for the German Grand Prix, with no present fears of the Frenchman being unable to compete in Sunday's race.
Bianchi, who sat out the first session at the Nürburgring while reserve driver Rodolfo González gained further mileage, withdrew from second practice after just ten laps, the team eager to give him extra time to recover before the on-track action resumes.
"He is recovering from a mild stomach bug and gave FP2 his best shot, but it was quite clear that he was not up to full strength and it was best to let him rest a little more," said team boss John Booth. "We hope to see him back on form tomorrow."
Bianchi finished the day in 21st position, just ahead of team-mate Max Chilton.
