Williams suffers KERS failure before practice
6 July 2013 – Williams has confirmed that Pastor Maldonado's car suffered a KERS failure ahead of Saturday morning's final practice session, causing smoke in the team's garage.
In a statement issued soon after the incident occurred, the Grove-based outfit stated that the smoke was quickly contained, with no staff members suffering injuries.
An investigation will now take place as to the cause of the KERS problem, although Maldonado was able to make it out on-track in the early minutes of final practice.
Last year, Williams suffered a garage fire following Maldonado's Spanish Grand Prix victory at the Circuit de Catalunya, with seven people being taen to hospital.
