Hamilton: Kimi-Vettel combo would be cool
11 July 2013 – Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton has said it would be ‘cool’ if Kimi Räikkönen joined Red Bull Racing next season and teamed up with Sebastian Vettel – and he has predicted the Finn could give the German a ‘hard time’.
Räikkönen is one of three candidates in the frame to replace Mark Webber, who announced his decision to retire from the sport last month.
The others being considered by Red Bull are Scuderia Toro Rosso duo Daniel Ricciardo and Jean-Eric Vergne.
Hamilton, however, thinks a Seb-Kimi combination would be the most interesting.
“Right now it would be really cool to see Kimi in a Red Bull. He would give Seb a hard time,” Hamilton told British tabloid newspaper, The Sun.
“Kimi is an incredible driver - everyone knows that, so with an even better car it would be interesting to see what he does with that.”
