Sirotkin to visit Sauber factory next week
16 August 2013 – Sergey Sirotkin will visit the Sauber factory in Hinwil next week. The Russian, 17, is to begin his development programme ahead of a planned race seat graduation in 2014.
Sirotkin, contesting Formula Renault 3.5, was announced as a Sauber protégé last month when the outfit joined forces with a trio of Russian companies. The deal includes the International Institute of Aviation Technologies, led by father Oleg.
Running from Tuesday 20 to Thursday 22 August, Sirotkin's visit will see him meet staff members and learn about the technical side of Sauber's Formula 1 operation.
"During the visit scheduled for August 20-22, Sergey will get acquainted with the team's personnel, its technical equipment and F1 car," said Sirotkin's management.
Sirotkin lies ninth in the Formula Renault 3.5 standings with three rounds of the season remaining; his best result is a second place finish at Motorland Aragón.
