Vergne: I'm happy to stay at Toro Rosso
23 August 2013 – Jean-Éric Vergne has made clear that he would be "more than happy" to retain his race seat with the Toro Rosso outfit for a third Formula 1 campaign next year.
The Frenchman's comments come soon after team boss Franz Tost indicated that he is likely to stay onboard for the 2014 season, the latter making reference to a lack of experience in the top echelon relative to current team-mate Daniel Ricciardo.
"I'm absolutely not worried about my future," explained Vergne. "As a driver I wish I could have a car to win races but I will be more than happy to stay at Toro Rosso. It’s a good team, a team that is building up and getting better and better. We have a new factory and a lot of good people coming in, so I would be more than happy to stay."
He added: "I will try to focus 100 percent on my season and all the races that are going on for the rest of the year. I don't want to think too much about next year."
Vergne heads into the Belgian Grand Prix weekend two points ahead of Ricciardo.
