Button: Alonso biggest threat to Vettel
28 August 2013 – Jenson Button reckons Fernando Alonso will be Sebastian Vettel's biggest threat as the German attempts to sew up a fourth title during the final eight races of the season.
After leading home Alonso in Belgium, Vettel holds a 46-point advantage over the Spaniard. But their McLaren rival, who tips Ferrari to have "a very good chance of winning" at Monza, says the title battle is not yet over, with 200 points still up for grabs.
"I think Fernando's the one to look at to challenge Sebastian," Button said following Sunday afternoon's race. "He seems happy with the car and they're [Ferrari] making progress.
"I think Ferrari will be strong at Monza and have a very good chance of winning there. They're stronger now than this time last year and could do very well. The championship's not over."
With the same number of races remaining last year, Alonso led Vettel by a weaker margin of 24 points, the Red Bull driver recovering the deficit to claim honours.
