Sullivan named as Monza driver steward
4 September 2013 – Former Indianapolis 500 winner Danny Sullivan has been named as governing body the FIA's driver representative steward for this weekend's Italian Grand Prix at Monza, a position he most recently held at the season-opening race in Australia.
The American made his Formula 1 foray with Tyrrell in 1983, scoring a sole points finish in Monaco. Returning to his home country after just one season, he continued a successful IndyCar career, winning the 1985 Indy 500 and the overall title in 1988.
Sullivan has served as the dedicated driver steward on four previous occasions. Alongside the aforementioned race in Melbourne, he was on the panel at the Hockenheim and Singapore events of 2010, and at the Hungaroring in 2012.
