Marussia hints at unchanged line-up
7 September 2013 – Marussia has again suggested that it would like to field and unchanged driver line-up in 2014, with Sporting Director Graeme Lowdon heaping praise on current pairing Jules Bianchi and Max Chilton for doing "an extremely good job" so far this season.
Following the departure of experienced racer Timo Glock at the beginning of the year, the Banbury-based outfit elected to sign two rookies in Chilton and Luiz Razia, the latter ultimately being replaced by Bianchi before the first race due to budget issues.
And taking into account the challenges of a maiden campaign in the top echelon, Lowdon believes that both his drivers have given a strong account of themselves.
"It's kind of this period onwards when we really start to make some key decisions," Lowdon said of the situation at Monza. "Typically it's a lot later in the year that we make any announcements but both drivers have done an extremely good job and at times under quite difficult circumstances. There's a very good harmony in the team and a good team spirit. It would be nice to maintain that but let's wait and see."
Marussia currently holds the significant 10th position in the Constructors' standings, courtesy of Bianchi's 13th-place finish at the Malaysian Grand Prix back in March.
