Webber annoyed by podium boos
9 September 2013 – Red Bull driver Mark Webber expressed dissatisfaction at the way in which team-mate Sebastian Vettel was booed on the podium after winning Sunday's Italian Grand Prix.
Having made the Monza rostrum for the first time on his final European appearance, Webber experienced first-hand the gathered Tifosi supporters, who greeted second-placed Ferrari driver Fernando Alonso with a rapturous applause before jeering Vettel.
"I'm very happy to get a podium at Monza, one of the most famous ones in the world," Webber told reporters after the ceremony. "It was brilliant to experience that. But the atmosphere after Seb won was not completely correct. Anyway, it's their choice."
Webber added of his race: "I had a good battle with Fernando, fair play to him on that. And then afterwards I settled in to getting my head down and getting on with the race. Sebastian is very strong around here and it was great to get such a good result."
