Alonso: Ferrari's decision on driver front
10 September 2013 – Ferrari number one driver Fernando Alonso has said that whoever the Scuderia selects as his team-mate for next season it will be 'good' for him.
The Maranello-based team are expected to make an announcement imminently, after Ferrari president Luca di Montezemolo told reporters at the Italian Grand Prix that a decision will be made 'immediately' after Monza.
It is believed that current Lotus driver Kimi Räikkönen will get the nod and several unconfirmed reports suggest the Finn has already agreed terms that will see him oust the underperforming Felipe Massa.
Speaking to his fans on Twitter, in a Q&A following Sunday’s race at Monza, Alonso, however, refused to say who he would pick as a team-mate, if he could choose himself.
“Well, I said yesterday to the media it’s not possible for me to talk of any name for next year because I have a lot of respect for Felipe. We’ve been working very hard and close for four years to give Ferrari the maximum," he wrote.
“Whatever decision the team will take will be good for me and we will keep working to give Ferrari the best results possible.”
