Ferrari signs Lotus aerodynamics chief
13 September 2013 – Ferrari has acted to further strengthen its technical line-up by signing Lotus' head of aerodnyamics Dirk de Beer. The South African will reunite with James Allison, who departed his role as the Enstone-based outfit's Technical Director earlier this year.
Although Ferrari is yet to officially announce de Beer's appointment, he is expected to work alongside the Italian marque's current head of aero Loïc Bigois and directly underneath Allison, who has taken on the position of Chassis Technical Director.
Including the return of Kimi Räikkönen, Ferrari has acquired three key Lotus figures ahead of next season's major regulation changes, with the Maranello-based team searching for its first world title since claiming the Constructors' crown back in 2008.
