Webber penalised after lift with Alonso
22 September 2013 – Red Bull driver Mark Webber has been given a 10-place grid penalty for the Korean Grand Prix, after stewards gave him a reprimand following Sunday's Singapore race.
Having retired on the final lap, Webber hailed Ferrari's Fernando Alonso after the chequered flag, with the Spaniard stopping to transport him back to the pit lane.
But the stewards later claimed that article 30.9(b) of the sporting regulations was broken as Webber "entered the track without the marshal's permission between the commencement of the formation lap and the time the last car enters parc ferme."
Webber receives the penalty as it is his third reprimand of the season, after a clash with Nico Rosberg in Bahrain and failing to adhere to yellow flags in Canada.
Alonso was also reprimanded by the panel, which includes Derek Warwick.
