Bianchi feeling 'fine' after accident
11 October 2013 – Jules Bianchi says he is feeling "fine" after his crash during first practice at Suzuka. The Marussia driver lost control of his car on the approach to Degner 2 at the half-hour mark, subsequently hitting the barriers and causing significant front-left damage.
"My elbow is a bit painful now but I'm fine," Bianchi, who was seen holding an ice pack underneath his left elbow after returning to the paddock, explained to Sky Sports.
"I tried but when I had the oversteer moment my elbow stayed blocked between the elbow and seat. That's why I couldn't turn right. Not so nice but it's happened."
Bianchi ended the session in 20th position, ahead of Caterham rival Giedo van der Garde – who suffered a crash at the same corner – and team-mate Max Chilton.
