Grosjean: My confidence is increasing
20 October 2013 – Romain Grosjean says he is growing in confidence on a race-by-race basis, having recorded back-to-back podium finishes at the Japanese and Korean Grands Prix.
The Lotus driver, who is close to extending his contract for a third term, turned a corner at the German Grand Prix after a mixed start to the season, and has since become a stronger match for team-mate Kimi Räikkönen, scoring 61 points to the Finn's 79.
"I'm feeling really good with the car, my confidence is getting higher with every race and I'm very happy with the team," he said. "I'll keep working hard to improve the areas that need improving and we'll keep pushing for top results to the end of the season."
Looking directly at next weekend's Indian Grand Prix, Grosjean is hopeful that Pirelli's decision to supply its Soft and Medium tyre compounds will suit the Lotus team.
"Our car is really performing well at the moment so I think we could be strong again," said Grosjean. "It's fair to say we struggled there a little last year with finding grip and getting the right setup for the cars, so hopefully we can perform better this time.
"The tyre allocation was quite hard for the track in 2012 [Soft and Hard], but this year [Soft and Medium] it's softer which should help us and make for better racing."
