Rosberg has Red Bull in his sights
24 October 2013 – Mercedes driver Nico Rosberg is hopeful of taking the fight to Red Bull at the Indian Grand Prix, but admits only a completely smooth weekend will allow him to do so.
The German, who has won two races this season, endured particularly troublesome weekends in Korea and Japan, with his front wing dramatically failing at the Yeongam venue before he picked up a drive-through penalty at Suzuka for an unsafe release.
But with the F1 W04 chassis still displaying flashes of race-winning form, Rosberg believes that he is deserving of much more at the Buddh International Circuit.
"The last couple of races have not really gone to plan. We've had a lot of bad luck," said Rosberg during Thursday's press conference at the Greater Noida track.
"I've got a really good car. Red Bull is a little quicker than us but if we get everything right, it's possible to beat them. I'm here to do that. I'll give it everything, so we'll see."
Mercedes is currently embroiled in a battle for second position in the Constructors' standings. Ferrari sits just 10 points ahead, while Lotus is 23 points in arrears.
