I couldn't ask for more, says Vettel
27 October 2013 – Red Bull driver Sebastian Vettel says he "couldn't have asked for more" from his team throughout the 2013 Formula 1 campaign, with the German, 26, securing a fourth successive world title by utterly dominating Sunday afternoon's Indian Grand Prix.
Having started from pole position, Vettel mastered tyre strategy to take the chequered flag half a minute ahead of nearest rival Nico Rosberg, bringing his season victory total up to 10 and putting him equal with Alain Prost on the all-time champions' list.
"I am speechless. I took ages to think about something and I wanted to say so many things, but I can't!" Vettel explained. "The spirit inside the team is so strong, and it gives me so much power. It's a pleasure to jump in the car and go out for the cars.
"The car has been phenomenal all season. I couldn't ask for more. [Joining] people like Prost, [Juan Manuel] Fangio and Michael [Schumacher], it's just unbelievable."
Vettel embarked upon a wild celebration after the chequered flag, conducting a series of donuts on the main straight before acknowledging the thousands of supporters.
"There were so many people in the grandstand so I had to do it," said Vettel. "The season was a difficult one, and very difficult to receive boos even though you hadn't done anything wrong. To bounce back and receive acceptance, I'm very proud."
Only Fangio (five) and Schumacher (seven) have claimed more titles than Vettel.
