Mallya buoyed by 'very important' points
28 October 2013 – Force India team boss Vijay Mallya described as "very important" the double points finish Paul di Resta and Adrian Sutil secured at the outfit's home Grand Prix in India.
With di Resta and Sutil taking the chequered flag in eighth and ninth respectively, the squad recorded its first double top ten since the British Grand Prix back in June, and moved 23 points clear of Sauber in the battle for sixth in the Constructors' standings.
Reflecting on the race, Mallya heaped praise on his workforce for its continual efforts, having been hurt by the tyre changes Pirelli made at the midway point of the season.
"Like everybody in the team I am delighted to see both Force Indias score points in our home race," said Mallya, whose outfit had failed to score in Japan and Korea. "That's the goal we set ourselves ahead of the weekend and the six points scored are very important for strengthening our position in the Constructors' Championship.
"The second half of the season has been challenging for us, but we showed that we never give up and that all the hard work has paid off. With three races remaining, there is plenty to play for and we go to Abu Dhabi determined to keep up this momentum."
By finishing sixth, Force India would equal its best overall classification since entering Formula 1, achieved during di Resta and Sutil's first spell as team-mates in 2011.
