Beitske Visser loses Red Bull backing
29 October 2013 – Beitske Visser is no longer a member of the Red Bull Junior Team, the Austrian firm opting to part ways with the 18-year-old after a mixed ADAC Formel Masters season.
Visser, who hails from Dronten, the Netherlands, was contesting her maiden term in the category, classifying eighth overall with one victory and a further podium finish to her name. But after a post-campaign evaluation, her contract has been terminated.
"I'm sad to tell I'm no longer part of the Red Bull Junior Team anymore. It was a difficult season and the results were not what both expected," explained Visser via social networking website Twitter. "Many thanks to Red Bull and Dr. [Helmut] Marko for the great support they gave me. I will work hard to come back strong. I won't give up."
Visser was the first Dutch driver and female to join the junior Red Bull talent pool.
