Räikkönen skips media day in Abu Dhabi
31 October 2013 – Kimi Räikkönen has elected to skip the designated media day at Yas Marina, putting the spotlight on his relationship with Lotus after the Indian Grand Prix radio drama.
Although the Finn is set to arrive comfortably ahead of opening practice on Friday, with the team claiming a late arrival was always his plan, he is said to be unhappy after vibrant orders to allow team-mate Romain Grosjean past at the Buddh venue.
The specific call to "move out of the f***ing way", issued by Trackside Operations Director Alan Permane, led Lotus team boss Eric Boullier to publicly apologise after the Grand Prix, arguing that the situation could have been handled in a better manner.
It has also been suggested that Räikkönen, whose salary obligations have not been fully met this year, was pondering the option of sitting out this weekend's race, but has pushed that thought aside and is set to see out the season before returning to Ferrari.
