Grosjean still has sights on podium
3 November 2013 – Romain Grosjean says he is still targeting a podium finish during Sunday evening's Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, despite setting only the seventh fastest time in qualifying.
The Frenchman, who moves up to sixth after the disqualification of Lotus team-mate Kimi Räikkönen, has been off the pace since enduring technical troubles on Friday, but remains hopeful of finding the gains required to extend his run of rostrum finishes.
"That was one of the trickier qualifying sessions we've had recently, and seventh on the grid is not where we expected to be after the pace we've shown this weekend," said Grosjean. "The car felt quite different in the evening – particularly at the front end.
"It's a long race in tough conditions and everyone around us will start on the same tyres, so we need to try and find some performance to achieve our podium target."
At last weekend's Indian Grand Prix, Grosjean rose 14 places from 17th to third.
