Hamilton: I must deliver better results
3 November 2013 – Lewis Hamilton has admitted that he needs to improve his race performances after a below-par Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, during which he dropped from fourth to seventh.
Having shared the second row of the grid with team-mate Nico Rosberg, the Briton slipped to a lower race classification for the third successive event, and says he must "work harder" to turn the situation around at the final two races of the campaign.
"Clearly with Nico's result the car's better than what I'm able to bring home with it," Hamilton told reporters. "It's the same every race. It can't be other people's fault. Nico's been getting great points for the team. I just need to work harder to try to do the same."
Despite an ultimately disappointing result, Hamilton was keen to thank his Mercedes mechanics for the work they carried out after his suspension failure in qualifying.
"The guys did an incredible job to put the car together," the former World Champion went on to explain. "I just want everyone back home to know I'll keep pushing."
