Vettel not concerned by lack of running
29 January 2014 – Sebastian Vettel has played down his Red Bull team's lack of running over the first two days of pre-season testing at Jerez.
The German, who approaches the 2014 campaign on the back of nine straight victories, completed only three laps on the opening day of the test due to a car preparation issue, and could add just eight more before suffering an energy store issue on Wednesday.
But he has argued that, given the extent of the regulation changes, early problems are to be expected.
"Obviously we've not had a lot of running and have a few problems to sort out, but with such big rule changes it is usual to have some teething problems," he explained. "That's what tests are for, to sort those issues out.
"The next two days will be important to get some track time to prepare for the tests in Bahrain."
Daniel Ricciardo will get behind the wheel of the RB10 on Wednesday and Thursday.
