Gutiérrez upbeat over Sauber reliability
1 March 2014 – Esteban Gutiérrez says Sauber has reason to be confident after reliable running with its new car at this week's Bahrain test.
Gutiérrez completed 106 laps on Friday at Sakhir, by far the most the C33 has been able to complete in a single day.
"The mileage we covered was great, and these were the most laps in one day for the team so far," explained the Mexican. "From a reliability point of view, I think we are doing well.
"After some aero work I was able to get into the long runs and race simulation. I also managed to get a feeling for different settings, including fuel saving, and that worked quite well.
"The pit crew and engineers are working incredibly hard, and we got used to race weekend procedures."
Adrian Sutil will be back behind the wheel on Saturday, before Gutiérrez brings the test to an end on Sunday.
