Vettel: We will have to fight in Melbourne
12 March 2014 – Red Bull Racing's Sebastian Vettel has said he will be out to take 'everything he can' from the Australian Grand Prix this weekend.
Vettel will be chasing his fifth Formula 1 Drivers' title in succession this year, but after a difficult time in pre-season testing, the German is aware that he faces a tough challenge, especially in the early races when a finish could well be an achievement in itself.
"We have been very successful over the last few years, but now things are a bit more difficult and we will start the season at a bit of a disadvantage," Vettel told Servus TV ahead of Sunday's race in Melbourne. "That means we have to fight, charge forward and take everything we can get."
Vettel meanwhile has revealed that he has named his 2014 F1 car, the RB10, 'Suzie'. Last year's machine was christened 'Hungary Heidi', while in previous seasons he has gone for 'Randy Mandy', 'Luscious Liz' and 'Kinky Kylie'.
"It's great to be starting the season," he added in Red Bull's official Melbourne preview. "We didn't do as much running as we would have liked in testing, so we have work to do in Melbourne, but it will be good to get to the first race.
"It's hard to know where we are; it's fair to say that we're not the favourites to win and we have to catch up with others that have completed more mileage, but we'll do our best with the great people that we have working for the team. We have achieved a lot together and I know everyone is working flat out as normal."
