Mark Sutton: Story behind the shot - Malaysia
2 April 2014 – Especially for lovers of motorsport photography, GPUpdate.net is this season running a feature series entitled Story behind the shot. Mark Sutton of Sutton Images, who provides our website with pictures, will choose his favourite photo from each Grand Prix weekend with a description as to how he captured it.
Malaysian Grand Prix: Red Bull and Daniel Ricciardo hit trouble again
Mark Sutton: "I had just got back into the Media Centre to download my cards from the start and grid, when I saw Daniel Ricciardo have his problems in the pit-lane. I immediately picked up my camera and shot him being pushed back by the mechanics. I then saw a mechanic without overalls and helmet and thought, "that's wrong!" Then I saw them trying to jack him up and work on his left front wheel, which was obviously not on correctly – it all seemed chaotic, which was in stark contrast to last year. After he left the pits I immediately downloaded the card, chose two to three images then uploaded them ASAP. They were the first images back and told a great story..."
