Vandoorne to take part in Bahrain test
3 April 2014 – McLaren's Stoffel Vandoorne has been given the nod to take part in next week's post-race Bahrain test.
The Belgian, 22, will be carrying out the role of McLaren reserve at the majority of races this season, and is to combine his Formula 1 work, which includes extensive simulator running, with a maiden GP2 campaign at ART.
Vandoorne finished runner-up to now McLaren race driver Kevin Magnussen in Formula Renault 3.5 last year.
The upcoming Bahrain test, running from April 8-9, is the first of four post-race gatherings this season. The remaining three tests will take place directly after the respective Spanish, British and Abu Dhabi Grands Prix.
