Schumacher has 'conscious moments'
4 April 2014 – Seven-time Formula 1 World Champion Michael Schumacher is "making progress" and showing "moments of consciousness" after months in a coma, according to his long-time agent, Sabine Kehm.
Doctors at the University Hospital of Grenoble in France have been working to bring Schumacher out of his medically induced coma, following the German's skiing accident in the French Alps on December 29.
"Michael is making progress on his way," read the statement from Schumacher's spokeswoman, Sabine Kehm.
"He shows moments of consciousness and awakening. We are on his side during his long and difficult fight, together with the team of the hospital in Grenoble, and we keep remaining confident."
Kehm again asked for the family's privacy to be respected by the media and dispelled reports that Schumacher's wife, Corinna, is planning to build a medical centre at their home to allow him to be moved from Grenoble.
