Formula 1 set for two new teams in 2015
6 April 2014 – Bernie Ecclestone has suggested that two new teams could join the Formula 1 grid in 2015.
Although governing body the FIA, which opened its entry tender last December, is yet to make an announcement over who will enter the fray next season, Ecclestone says two teams have provisionally been given the nod.
Ecclestone confirmed the expected news that an American outfit led by Gene Haas has been accepted, and revealed that a 13th entry, rumoured to be led by ex-Formula 1 team boss Colin Kolles, has also made the cut.
"They [Haas's proposed team] will be accepted," Ecclestone told the gathered media in Bahrain.
"We have also accepted another team. Whether they will make it or not is another story."
