Chilton eyes similarly strong race in Shanghai
17 April 2014 – Max Chilton has said he will be aiming for a 'similarly strong race' in China this weekend after leaving the Bahrain GP on a 'real high'.
Chilton took his second 13th place finish of the season at the BIC earlier this month, sandwiched between the two Lotus' of Romain Grosjean and Pastor Maldonado and ahead of Caterham's Kamui Kobayashi and Marussia team-mate Jules Bianchi. The result put Marussia back into tenth place in the Constructors' Championship and also saw the Briton maintain his perfect run of finishes, taking the number to 22 in succession.
"There has literally been no let-up over the past couple of months and here we are again, heading off to the next race in China, just a few days after returning from Bahrain," Chilton stated. "I really enjoyed my first taste of the Shanghai International Circuit last year; it's a nice challenge and the weather often throws up a few opportunities, particularly in the race.
"I left Bahrain on a real high and I hope we can enjoy a similarly strong race this weekend and maintain what feels like a bit of an advantage over our nearest competitors," he added.
