Rosberg anticipating battle with Hamilton
18 April 2014 – Nico Rosberg expects the greatest challenge to his chance of victory at this weekend's Chinese Grand Prix to come from Mercedes team-mate Lewis Hamilton.
Rosberg won the first round of the season in Australia but played second fiddle to Hamilton in Malaysia and Bahrain, with the duo's battle for the win at Sakhir being settled in favour of the British racer.
Rosberg was third quickest during the second practice session in China and reckons that Mercedes is well placed to continue its dominant start to 2014.
"Normally we struggle with rear tyre wear but here it seems to be the front tyres that I struggle with," he said. "You have so many long corners; you are just waiting and waiting and waiting to finish the corners. There is a lot of energy spent adapting to this situation.
"There is a need to be creative and look at the set-up, because graining can be very bad. We are still looking good performance wise, in terms of one-lap pace and on the long runs. But other teams were watching us and pushing a lot as we saw with Fernando [Alonso] today.
"I guess my main rival for a win will again be my team-mate, so I'm looking forward to the next in-house battle."
