Ricciardo: I got everything out of the car
19 April 2014 – Daniel Ricciardo says that he extracted the maximum from his Red Bull RB10 during a wet qualifying for the Chinese Grand Prix.
Ricciardo set the second quickest time during qualifying and will line up on the front row of the grid for the second time in his Formula 1 career.
"I couldn't have got anything extra out of the car on that last lap, I got everything I could out of it; for that I'm pleased and I got rewarded with a front row place for tomorrow," he said.
"It took a while to get going in the session today, I didn't have the comfort or pace that I was aiming for, but I got it at the end. I feel like I'm ready to get a good result, I know it's never going to be easy but I'm prepared for the fight tomorrow and I'll embrace it."
Ricciardo reckons that he can fight for the podium places during Sunday's race.
"It's probably going to be a big strategy game tomorrow with two or three stop," he said. "It's pretty close. If you can make a two-stop work successfully I think it's going to help out. I think we can race up the front. I'll be ducking my head down the straight, like in a go-kart but, we'll hopefully hang on and fight for at least a podium."
