Rosberg looks forward to 'normal weekend'
20 April 2014 – Nico Rosberg says he is looking forward to a "normal" Spanish Grand Prix, after enduring an incident-packed weekend in China.
The Mercedes driver made costly mistakes on his two timed attempts in Saturday's final qualifying phase and dropped to seventh at the start of the race after a collision with the Williams of Valtteri Bottas.
He recovered to second with a string of clean passes, but is eyeing a return to the top step at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.
"I'm still in the lead which is good, considering the whole weekend was really, really bad for me," Rosberg explained after limiting the damage.
"I had no telemetry, so I'm pleased with second and looking forward to a normal weekend in Barcelona."
Rosberg echoed the thoughts of race-winning team-mate Lewis Hamilton when discussing his 2014 machine.
"It's incredible what the team has built – this thing is so quick," he said. "It increases the enjoyment level further."
Rosberg's lead over Hamilton has been trimmed to four points, the equivalent of an eighth-place finish.
