Kvyat 'very happy' with third points finish
20 April 2014 – Daniil Kvyat was understandably elated after picking up his third points finish from four races during Sunday's Chinese Grand Prix.
The Toro Rosso rookie started 13th but gradually progressed to the top ten, fending off the attentions of McLaren's Jenson Button throughout.
"It felt great today and I'm very happy with my performance," said Kvyat.
"I had a good start and managed to make up some positions on the first lap. Our pace was very strong and I enjoyed the fight with Jenson pretty much throughout. We also did a good job with the tyre management."
Kvyat added that he is hoping for even more when Formula 1's European leg begins in Spain next month.
"Even though it all went very well today, I think there's still a lot more to come from the car," he said. "I'm really looking forward to starting the European part of the season, where I hope to get some more points."
Kvyat is now tied with team-mate Jean-Éric Vergne – who finished the race in 12th position – on four points.
