McLaren: Button fit and well, fine for Spanish GP
29 April 2014 – Jenson Button is fit and well and contrary to 'a few rogue media reports' will be fine for the Spanish Grand Prix, the fifth round in the 2014 Formula 1 World Championship, McLaren have confirmed to GPUpdate.net.
It was alleged that he suffered a leg injury last weekend while competing in a triathlon on the Canary Islands, pulling out after completing the cycling and swimming stages of the event. However, McLaren have since clarified that those reports are not true.
"Jenson decided not to complete the Canary Islands triathlon, but he is fit and well and has, contrary to a few rogue media reports, no injuries of any kind," a McLaren spokesperson said.
"Indeed, he is driving in our simulator today and is looking forward to participating in the forthcoming Spanish Grand Prix."
