Allison confident of Räikkönen improvement
6 May 2014 – Ferrari's James Allison has backed Kimi Räikkönen to achieve stronger results as the 2014 Formula 1 campaign develops, following the Finn's challenging start to his second stint with the famous Italian marque.
While team-mate Fernando Alonso has reached the podium and sits best of the rest behind Mercedes duo Nico Rosberg and Lewis Hamilton after the opening four races, Räikkönen has failed to finish higher than seventh.
Räikkönen's issues are largely set-up related, but Technical Director Allison reckons he will soon make strides.
"With Fernando we've seen an extraordinary level of performance, scavenging every possible point at every possible opportunity," Allison explained to the official Ferrari website ahead of the Spanish Grand Prix. "Kimi is working extremely well with the team, collaborating with the engineers, helping us to drive this car forwards.
"He has class written all over him and in a very short space of time I'm sure we will see the results on track."
Räikkönen currently sits 12th in the championship standings on 11 points, 30 adrift of team-mate Alonso.
