Minor changes made to Barcelona circuit
7 May 2014 – Minor adjustments have been made to the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya ahead of this weekend's 2014 Formula 1 Spanish Grand Prix.
The tweaks see a 7 metre wide strip of gravel around the outside of Turn 11 replaced with asphalt and similarly on the approach to Turn One – where the kerb has been renewed – the verge behind it is now laid with asphalt.
The kerbs on the exit of Turns Nine and 12 have also been renewed and the artificial grass behind them extended.
Meanwhile, just like last year, there will be two DRS zones: "The first has a detection point 86 metres before Turn Nine and an activation point 40 metres after. DRS detection point two is at the Safety Car line, with activation 157 metres after Turn 16," the FIA confirmed.
